Arnica Has Transformed My Man into an Herbal Believer

To say the least, my husband was once skeptical about the benefits of herbs. That is, I say, until he just about kicked his foot off in Tae Kwon Do. He suffered and was trying to get back to running with his ankle for a month. Finally, I pointed to the Arnica Ache Rub in the bottom of his gym bag.

Several days later he says, “I…I, have something to tell you, I am not sure if it is just my imagination or not, but that stuff really seems to work.” I wish you could have seen the look on my face! I began to tell him a little story…

Arnica Flowers

Arnica flowers have been used since the European settlers came to America. It has been speculated that shepherds discovered its benefits when their sheep were snuggling up to it. It has been known to helps heal injuries to joints and muscles. Arnica should always be used externally and can help with bruises, muscles strains, and arthritis. It should not be used on open cuts or sores and should NEVER be taken internally in my book.

The essential oils that we use in our salve are beneficial also. We use warming essential oils of ginger, rosemary, thyme, clove, and eucalyptus. If you make your own, you can create your own warming blend of oils or take the simple approach and go with just one essential oil.

Have fun with it!
